Hoya latifolia

Hoya latifolia, also known as the broadleaf Hoya, is a climbing plant native to Southeast Asia, including regions like Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It is characterised by its large, thick, and leathery leaves, which can grow quite rapidly under ideal conditions. The plant produces clusters of star-shaped flowers that are typically white or pale pink, emitting a pleasant fragrance.

Native to: Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Water: Requires well-draining soil; water thoroughly but allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it’s essential to let the soil dry before the next watering.

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Insufficient light may result in slower growth and reduced flowering.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity levels, ideally between 50-70%. While it can adapt to average indoor humidity, increasing humidity through occasional misting or using a humidity tray can promote healthier growth.

Temperature: Favours temperatures between 1829C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid exposure to temperatures below 15C.
