A compact variety developed by the University of Massachusetts in the early 1950s, Waltham 29 produces tight, crisp heads with bright, sweet flavor. Delicious roasted, grilled, blanched, and sauted! 200 seeds minimum Germination: 7-14 days Maturity: 85-90 days Direct sow deep 2-4 weeks before last frost date or indoors in early winter for spring transplant. Repeat in midsummer for an autumn harvest. Plant or transplant in direct sun. Space plants 18-24 apart in rows 2 -3 apart.
