Pilea depressa is a miniature trailing plant that produces masses of small, round, bright green leaves on thin, creeping stems. It spreads outward and cascades over pot edges, forming a dense, lush mat of foliage that is suitable as a terrarium, or as a living mulch around the base of taller plants. The leaves are slightly succulent and catch the light with a soft sheen. It is a quick grower and easy to manage.
Origins
Native to the Caribbean and Central America, Pilea depressa grows as a creeping ground cover in humid, shaded forest habitats, spreading across rocks, soil, and tree bases.
