Urtica dioica

Do not be dissuaded by its reputation! Nettle has an ancient history of important uses, from making fibre to treating arthritis. The stinging hairs are neutralised by rubbing or cooking, and the tender, delicious leaves are an excellent source of iron and Vitamin C.
