Oakleaf Hydrangea Ruby Slippers (Hydrangea quercifolia hybrid)

This compact form of Oakleaf Hydrangea is ideal for smaller spaces since it only grows 3-4 tall. Developed at the National Arboretum, Ruby Slippers has large white flowers that emerge in summer and mature to deep pink. Dark green, lobed, oak-leaf-like foliage turns a brilliant magenta-red in fall. Since it flowers on last years wood, prune only after flowering.
