King David is an heirloom apple discovered in 1893 on Ben Frosts farm in Durham, Arkansas. Thought to be a cross of Jonathan and Arkansas Black or Jonathan and Winesap, it is highly disease-resistant and known for its outstanding flavor. The medium-sized, round fruit has pale cream-yellow flesh that is firm, crunchy, and intensely flavorful. It has been reported to thrive in low chill hour climates (potentially to Zone 10), though best suited for Zones 4-8.
