Hoya engleriana is a charming dwarf species, prized for flowers that seem almost too big for the plant that produces them. Its slender, lightly succulent leaves stay neat and compact, while its blooms open as large, waxy white stars with a deep crimson centre and a soft vanilla scent.
Origins
Native to the forests of Thailand, Hoya engleriana grows as an epiphyte, anchoring itself to tree bark high in the canopy rather than rooting in soil.
Soil and Substrate
Our Hoya Premium Potting Mix is peat-free, hand-blended in Yorkshire, and formulated for epiphytic Hoyas. Its open, chunky structure of bark and airy components mimics the bark and leaf litter these plants cling to in the wild, giving the roots the fast drainage and oxygen they need to thrive and bloom.
