Ghost Fern (Athyrium hybrid)

Ghost Fern is a stunning hybrid of Japanese Painted Fern and Lady Fern that has silvery fronds and dark purple stems to hold the fern rigidly upright. Its unique coloring stands out in outdoor gardens against green perennials or a woodland landscape. Ghost Fern is a deer-resistant, hardy perennial that thrives in moist soil in a partially shady location. Hardy to zone 3, this deciduous fern will reliably re-emerge in springtime. This Athyrium is taller and more tolerant to dry soils than others in the genus.
