Fragrant Tea Olive

Osmanthus fragrans is a dense evergreen shrub grown for its foliage and extremely fragrant flowers. This flowering ornamental shrub, native to Asia, is a member of the olive family, but does not produce olives.

Osmanthus fragrans is ideal for use as a border or privacy shrub. Its dense, upright form is heavily covered with 5″ long, oval, glossy green leaves. Highly aromatic, the small white apricot-scented flowers bloom sporadically throughout the year.

This species can also be trained as an espalier, small tree, or grown in a container. Other common names include, Fragrant Osmanthus, Sweet Osmanthus, Tea Olive, and Fragrant Olive.
