Commiphora mollis ‘Kenya’ SEEDS

Commiphora mollis ‘Kenya’ seeds grow into a deciduous caudiciform shrub or small tree of documented Kenyan provenance material from the northern end of this species’ range, which extends from southern Kenya south through Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia to South Africa. C. mollis is one of the more widely distributed southern African Commiphora, growing in the seasonally dry tropical biome across its wide range. The ‘Kenya’ provenance captures material from the most northerly part of the distribution. Like all Commiphora, it develops a swollen stem with peeling aromatic bark and is fully deciduous in the dry season. Family Burseraceae.

Full sun, sharp drainage and a dry leafless rest replicate the seasonal conditions of its Kenyan and East African habitat.
