Catopsis sessiliflora SEEDS

Catopsis sessiliflora seeds grow into an epiphytic bromeliad native to the wet tropical biome from Mexico south through Central America, the Caribbean and South America. The epithet sessiliflora means ‘sessile-flowered’ the flowers are stalkless, attached directly to the inflorescence axis without individual pedicels. A slender, epiphytic Tillandsioideae growing on tree branches and trunks in humid tropical and subtropical forests. Like all Catopsis, it does not form a water-holding tank the leaves are arranged in an open, spreading rosette that collects moisture through specialised trichomes. A variable species with several synonyms, reflecting its broad distribution. Named originally by Ruiz and Pavn from Peruvian material. Family Bromeliaceae.
