Caramel Charm Peony

I’ve never been one to get excited about wall decor, but there it was ?? this absurdly perfect ceramic camellia, the size of a plate and glazed in a color that made me think of those fancy caramel squares my sister hoards in her purse. You know the ones, wrapped in wax paper, that stick to your teeth for days. The artist, whoever they were, must have had a moment of divine inspiration when they stuck that keyhole on the back. It’s like they knew exactly how many times I’ve stood in my apartment, holding up various objects to the wall with one hand while making futile attempts to mark nail positions with the other.??

Usually this ends with me putting another small hole in the drywall that I’ll later cover with a strategically placed postcard from my mother. But this flower ?? this gloriously modern interior design take on nature ?? solved that whole dilemma. It’s the kind of piece that makes visitors stop mid-sentence and say, “Oh, what’s that?” which is exactly what you want from wall art.
