Prunus caroliniana ‘Bright ‘n Tight’ is an outstanding, compact Carolina Laurel with dense shiny deep green foliage. Also known as Prunus caroliniana ‘Compacta’, ‘Monus’, or Compact Carolina Cherry Laurel, this evergreen shrub has a tidy appearance and adapts well to shearing to control size and form. Showy clusters of fragrant creamy-white flowers bloom late winter to midspring followed by black berries.

More compact than the regular species, Prunus caroliniana, ‘Bright ‘N Tight’ makes a great privacy hedge or windbreak. Its dense foliage adapts easily to shearing and can be pruned into topiaries.
