Pre-inoculated, Non-GMO, and no-till, All Purpose Cover Crop Seed Mix is an affordable, sustainable way to rejuvenate garden soil, including in container gardens and raised beds. This blend of heirloom annual varieties work in tandem to organically prepare your growing space for the upcoming season. Four legumes put nitrogen back into the soil. Three hardy grains offer rapid cover and biomass, or “green manure,” which increases nutrients in the soil, reducing the need for fertilizers, and improves nutrient delivery as well as moisture retention and drainage. A deep-rooted radish helps break up and aerate the soil. Mustard has natural insecticidal properties, and the collard offers forage and additional biomass.
