Grow your own Edamame beans (soya beans) for a rewarding and nutritious harvest. This protein-rich, rare variety produces large, creamy beans that are both filling and flavourful, making them a fantastic addition to vegetarian meals and stir-fries.

Easy to grow in a sunny spot, they deliver high yields from late summer to autumn while naturally enriching your soil with nitrogen. For best results, sow three seeds per small pot in late spring, thinning to the strongest seedling before transplanting outdoors. Space 15cm (6in) apart and enjoy generous harvests from August onwards.

For a restaurant-style treat, steam the pods whole and dip them in rock salt – simple, delicious, and healthy.
