Tall native aster with reddish to purplish stems and loose clusters of pale lavender to bluish daisies in late summer and fall. Often found in moist meadows, ditches, and wetland edges, where it provides vertical accent and pollinator resources. Prefers full sun and moist to wet, yet reasonably well-drained soils and is well suited to naturalized plantings and rain gardens.
