Product Information:

Inavale is a true medium-maturing leafy orchardgrass with strong disease resistance. This orchardgrass exhibits exceptional seedling vigor and establishes rapidly. When planting north of the transition zone, it should be planted in early spring or late summer to take advantage of soil moisture and moderate temperatures. In the transition zone, planting should occur in the late summer or early fall.

Orchardgrass is categorized as a bunchgrass which grows and spreads laterally by creating new shoots called tillers which emanate from the base of the plant – forming an even wider bunch. To enable the production of a leafy dense stand, the height of the stand during the first year should ideally be maintained in the 4 – 12 inch range.

Plant this seed at a rate of 20 – 25 lbs. per acre when drilling or at a rate of 40 lbs. per acre when broadcasting. The seed needs to be sown at a depth of 1/4 inch during the fall months.
