This species typically produces a single, tripinnate leaf from its tuber during the growing season, with the leaf and stalk reaching up to 1.5 metres in height. The individual leaflets are up to 10 cm long and 3.5 cm broad. In late spring, a spadix arises from the tuber, characteristic of its flowering process.

Water: Maintain moist soil during the active growing season, allowing the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. During dormancy, reduce watering to prevent tuber rot.
