Anthurium ‘Silver Blush’ is a modern hybrid anthurium celebrated for its lush, heart-shaped leaves overlaid with bold silvery veining against a deep green base, giving the foliage a soft, almost frosted glow. New leaves emerge blushed with warmer tones and settle into their silvered maturity as they harden off.

Origins

Anthurium ‘Silver Blush’ is a modern cultivated hybrid anthurium developed for ornamental houseplant use. Its parent species descend from the cloud forests of Colombia, Panama, and northwestern South America, where velvet-leafed, silver-veined anthuriums grow as hemi-epiphytes in cool, humid, filtered-light conditions.

Soil and Substrate

Velvet-leafed hybrid anthuriums need a chunky, airy substrate that mirrors the decaying leaf litter of their native cloud forests. OurAnthurium Mix is ideally suited to ‘Silver Blush’. The blend of bark, perlite, coco chips, and charcoal keeps thick roots well oxygenated, drains freely to prevent rot, and still holds the moisture the plant needs for steady new leaves.
