Cultivation method:
Carrots grow well in deep, loose, well-worked soil. Because the seeds are small, it’s helpful to mix them with a little sand to ensure even sowing. When the soil temperature is above 7.5C (45F), sow at a depth of 7 to 15 mm ( to 6 in) in rows spaced 45 to 60 cm (18 to 24 in). Maintain consistent moisture during germination, which takes about two weeks, and prevent soil crusting. Thin to 5 cm (2 in) apart when the seedlings are young. Water regularly, weed carefully, and avoid fertilizers high in nitrogen. Harvest when the roots have developed a good color and are well-formed.
